<h2>The Eternal Dance of the Twin Moons</h2>

<p>The night sky above is forever adorned with the ethereal dance of the world's two larger moons - Seni and Luura. These celestial companions each bear the size of a grown man's splayed hand held at arms length when looking up at the night sky, with the distance between them being equal to their size when they're at their furthest apart. Tidally locked to one other, the two moons revolve around one another such that one eclipses the other every 5th night. It is from their cycle that the concepts of both months and weeks find their origin. The two moons wax and wane in sync, always equal when side by side, while taking turns casting a shadow over each other in their eternal dance. The beginning of each 30-day months is heralded by Seni's emergance from beneath the eclipse cast by Luura during its full phase, with a few single-day months sprinkled throughout the year to keep this relation in sync.</p>

<h2>Seni, the Tranquil Moon</h2>
|
|
<p>Seni has a smooth surface with gentle streaks and swirls of white and light-blue, known for its tranquil and peaceful light. It goes by various names such as the Tranquil Moon, the Silver Moon, The Night White Lady, the Maiden of the Night Sky, The Cleansing Light, and The Guiding One. In some cultures, Seni is associated with a moon deity who often bears names and titles resembling those of the moon itself. Seni is typically linked to concepts of purity, cleansing, and healing. It is believed that curses and afflictions are easier to control under Seni's light, and old wounds are said to ache less in its presence.</p>

<h2>Luura, the Cursed Moon</h2>
|
|
<p>Luura also possesses a mostly smooth surface, adorned with streaks of mossy green in varying shades. Across Luura's expanse, one can observe a series of deep cracks and chasms emitting an orange glow. Luura's light is often described as intense, restless, and somewhat unsettling. The moon goes by various names, including the Cursed Moon, the Wild Moon, the Scarred Moon, the Night Hunter, The Eye of the Beast, the Predator in the Sky, and the Blood Moon.</p>

<p>The latter name is derived from a phenomenon that occurs when Luura is near full and completely eclipses Seni. During this event, the orange hue from Luura's chasms engulfs its entire surface, creating an orange-red glow known as the Blood Moon. This phenomenon takes place on the night between the 30th and 1st of each month. Luura is commonly associated with concepts of ferocity, the darker aspects of nature, and curses. It is believed that curses and similar afflictions are more potent when exposed to Luura's light. Some cultures also associate Luura with deities symbolizing the wilder and more brutal aspects of nature, often sharing names and titles with the moon itself.</p>

<h2>Mirrored and Opposed</h2>
|
|
<p>The Twin Moons are viewed as both complementary and opposing forces. While Seni brings solace, Luura stirs restlessness. Seni shelters the hunted, while Luura guides the hunter. Both moons are associated with the magical arts, each believed to enhance certain effects and nullify those of the other. Thus, when both are fully visible in the night sky, it is commonly believed that their influences cancel each other out. However, during an eclipse, this nullifying aspect is believed to no longer be in effect, allowing the eclipsing moon's influence to prevail. Their effects are also believed to be stronger during the fullest phases of the moon.</p>

<p>Seni's light is thought to aid magic associated with soothing, healing, calming, or curing, whereas Luura's light is believed to agitate and incite, particularly in the realm of curses and other undesirable afflictions. Predatory creatures are believed to be more inclined to attack wanderers when Luura eclipses Seni, and less likely to do so when Seni eclipses Luura.</p>

<p>Cursed individuals, such as therianthropes, are especially sensitive to the influence of the Twin Moons. Their curse often intensifies during a Luura eclipse and weakens during a Seni eclipse, with the effects correlating with the moon's phase. A therianthrope finds it easier to control their inner beast when Seni eclipses Luura and more challenging when Luura eclipses Seni. During a full Seni eclipse of Luura, the inner beast is nearly dormant, while during a full Luura eclipse of Seni, controlling the inner beast becomes exceedingly difficult.</p>
