On the cover, written in half-faded text, is “The Concalian Curse”. The records described start from several hundreds of years ago. The book describes incorporeal creatures having started to appear below the city of Alatri, and is keeping track of and investigating occurrences related to these appearances. The book gives off a permeating feeling of worry, as with every new event described, the occurrences appear to become increasingly frequent and increasingly severe - with each occurrence describing more and more creatures appearing.

The author also seem to have toured the other major Concalian ruins in the later portions of the book - confirming that the same occurrences seem to appear there.
