These notes seem to describe numerous iterations of a particular magical experiment. Iterations describe tweaks to ritual setup, such as material compositions, material amounts, tweaks to the magic circle itself, and tweaks to parameters such as timings and magical power inputs during each iteration. The few notes written after each iteration makes it clear that the author was trying to optimize the Core's capacity to hold magic, as well as efforts to stabilize and control said magic. There's no mention as to what, if any, end goals besides just optimizing capacity, stability, and control. The journal shows no apparent end to the iterations, with the author instead simply running out of pages in this journal while performing iterations.

The general gist here seem to be that the author's tried to jam as much magic into the central Core as possible, with part of the ritual simply being a perpetual magic field to keep the Cores stable. The iterations show a general trade-off between capacity versus stability and control, with the iterations making it quite obvious that capacity is being prioritized above the others.
