Catoblepas can be found grazing on the swamp's vegetation, exacerbating its fetid characteristics. Predators such as carrion crawlers, displacer beasts, and hydras also lurk in the swamp, ceaselessly seeking their next prey.
At the heart of the swamp stands Grandmother Mary's colossal oak tree, its hollowed interior serving as her lair when she's present in the forest. Even during her long absences, her loyal Yeth Hounds and other servants continue to guard her home and domain. Wood Woads, created through a ritual involving the carved-out heart of a living humanoid, stand as silent sentinels throughout the swamp, unwaveringly upholding Grandmother Mary's mandate to repel unwanted intruders.
